ASA and NEARA Announce Genealogy Workshop for October 6th

    Date

    9/4/2018

October is Archives Month and NEARA is excited to celebrate with a fun half-day workshop! Join us on Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Powhatan Male and Female Academy next door to the Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced researcher, we'll have research tips to help!

NEARA's Archival Manager Meredith McFadden will start the day with a broad overview of beginning genealogy how-to's and available resources at the archives. Then we'll hear the Executive Director of the Arkansas State Crime Lab, Mr. Kermit Channell, speak about DNA. You definitely want to seize this opportunity to learn about DNA and how it is used for genealogy from a scientific perspective!

Light refreshments will be provided and every attendee has a chance to win door prizes sponsored by Ancestry.com. After the presentations, everyone is invited to come do their research at NEARA.

Registration is required for this free event due to limited space. To register, please visit the event's Eventbrite registration page, or call 870.878.6521 for more information.
